Journey Maps

Time-of-day mental model. One per critical persona/loop.

J1 — Maya (P1) — Morning founder loop

07:30 Wake. Coffee.
08:00 Stand-up with self. Opens iTerm.
08:01 `lycato morning`
├─ sees: 1 obligation overdue, balance dropped 11%,
│ 1 inbox item from yesterday, daily-digest draft ready
└─ feels: oriented in <30 s, no surprises
08:05 `lycato inbox triage 003`
        ├─ heuristic suggests "obligation"
└─ founder moves file into decisions/ or marks done in WHEN.md
08:10 Sees daily-digest diff. `git diff journal/daily/2026-05-19.md`.
        ├─ provenance markers point at WHEN.md + money/ledger/2026-05.md
        ├─ founder edits one line. `git add -p && git commit`.
└─ feels: in control, not blindly accepting
08:20 Opens cockpit briefly to glance at Memory page.
Confirms last-touch on Acme is recent.
08:25 Closes laptop. Goes to build.

       ── focus block ──

13:00 `lycato operator investor-update --month 5 --year 2026`
├─ deterministic financials computed; agent drafts sections
├─ founder reviews diff, edits Asks (specific intros), commits
        └─ ready to send Monday
17:30 `lycato cockpit` for the weekly walkthrough with cofounder. Theo
reviews the Review page on his iPad and approves the branch.

Pain reduction vs status-quo: ~3 hours/week saved. No SaaS hopping.

J2 — Theo (P2) — Cofounder approval, no git

        Email notification (planned 0.2.x): "Branch
        proposal/investor-update-2026-05 is awaiting review."
12:00 Opens cockpit on iPad. URL is a Lycato hosted instance for
        the company.
12:01 Review tab loaded. Sees branch with HIGH risk badge (investors/
path). Sees 2 changed files, last commit message, list of
        policy reasons.
12:02 Taps the file path in the diff viewer (planned 0.2.x for
cockpit; CLI works today via `lycato review` + git diff).
12:05 Edits the Asks section directly in cockpit (planned 0.2.x).
12:06 Taps "Approve". `.founder/reviews/proposal-investor-update-2026-05.yml`
        recorded with Theo's name.
12:07 Theo done; never touched git.

Today's reality (v0.1.0): approval button exists; inline diff viewing

J3 — Aman (P3) — Migration from DIY Obsidian + Claude Code

Day 0 Reads pitch. Clones repo. Runs `npx @lycato/cli init --demo`
in a fresh folder. Inspects file layout — recognises GBrain
       echo immediately.
Day 0 `lycato import notion ~/Downloads/My-Workspace-Export-2026-05/`
       — sees memory/projects/ and memory/topics/ populated.
Day 0 `lycato keys set ANTHROPIC_API_KEY sk-...` (already had key).
Day 1 `lycato operator content-queue` — sees 4 drafts, edits 2,
       approves slug for blog post.
Day 1 Writes a custom adapter for HabitTracker.app following the
client/transform/pull/index convention. PRs it back to Lycato.
Day 7 Becomes vocal advocate on HN/IH.

J4 — Lin (P4) — Non-technical bootstrapper (hosted)

Sign-up Lands on the Lycato site and opens the free hosted beta.
No card is requested; intended pricing is £39/month after confirmation.
Founding Creates a verified account and starter company record.
Foundation Shows only the bounded hosted foundation: CRM, consented analytics,
         public-site fallback, inventory, and removal.
Boundary Mail, custom domains, billing, and active hosted Operator work remain
visibly unavailable until connected and proved.
Handback Downloads the company inventory before requesting removal.

Today's reality (v0.1.0): J4 is the v0.4.x bet. Don't promise it yet on the website.

J5 — Riya (P5) — Fractional COO

Week 0 Sets up `~/clients/<client>/co-md/` for each client.
        Per-client `.founder/keys.env` (each client's keys).
Week 1 Wraps `lycato morning` per client in a tiny shell loop.
Reviews each digest in 5-10 min.
Week 2 Forks the Lycato template to add the
        client-specific archetype (D2C / DTC / B2B SaaS schemas).
Week 3 Posts the fork. Becomes a recurring referrer of new
        clients to Lycato.
